Scenes from Around the Conference

The Bugs in Bondage Mixer, held in Mesquite Gulch, was sponsored and hosted by
Zane Greathouse of Greathouse Butterfly Farm. It was a great start to the Conference.

Also from Greathouse Butterfly Farm,

Opening remarks and Keynote

Randy Morgan started our opening get together, introducing the sponsors...

and showing us that there aren't many areas to find invertebrates in Arizona, according to the Arizona Atlas and Gazetteer, but of course we all know better.

Dr. Payson Macdonald was our Keynote Speaker this year and after his special musical presentation on the rich and colorful history of spiders and music, focusing on the famous tarantella, we gathered on the Sunset Deck for food, drink and conversation.

This year’s Trivia Contest was organized by Doug Taron and Erin Sullivan.
Their unique and uncommon questions had the teams scratching their heads.
At the Banquet the winning team was awarded trophies for their accomplishment.

The Silent Auction, organized by TITAG, was the center of attention in the Exhibit Hall.
Erin Sullivan and many others with TITAG worked hard to get the tables set up and the bidding began. Right before the Banquet the bidding reached it’s height of excitement.
The proceeds from the Auction were shared by SASI and TITAG.

Thank you to all who helped to make this a successful Auction.

Just before the Banquet started, the final call was made for bids on the Auction items.

Here the gang from TITAG takes care of the details in the aftermath of some very competitive bidding.

The pool, the hot tub (sorry, no pics) and the grounds of the resort
saw us there all times of the day and night!
