Red-bordered Satyr
Gyrocheilus patrobas tritonia

General: Few butterflies in the Memorial can match the exquisite coloration of this species. Though on wing only in fall, it can be very conspicuous at times, especially when it flies over grass covered slopes under the oaks or gathers in large groups at mud.
Flight: primarily September to October
Foodplant: bull grass, Muhlenbergia emersleyi and probably others
Status: resident
