One of SASI's recent projects has been to develop an arthropod module for The Saguaro and the City, a CD-ROM production of the University of Arizona scheduled to be released in Summer 1997. The arthropod module on the CD also includes a video interview with Steve Prchal concerning the arthropods associated with decaying saguaros and different means of learning about the interrelationships of insects in the desert.
SASI's module also includes photos and brief text of some of the common arthropods encountered within the city, and in natural desert areas surrounding Tucson. Dick Fredericksen, SASI's volunteer Webmaster has adapted the images and text, as seen in the module, to provide you with this illustrated introduction to the Arthropods of Tucson.
SASI's portion of The Saguaro and the City CD-ROM was funded by a grant from the World Wildlife Fund.
