Red Satyr
Megisto rubricata cheneyorum

General: This butterfly is similar in flight and color to Nabokov's Satyr except the upperwings are patched with red and a series of small eyespots. Adults usually open wings upon landing, revealing these markings.
Flight: late spring with some adults persisting through summer
Foodplant: unknown but undoubtedly grasses (Poaceae)
Status: resident
