My favorite larvae at Williams were these Archaeoprepona demophoon gulina. They eat a number of plants in the family Lauraceae. The golden larva is approaching pupation; the brown and gray coloration is consistent in the earlier instars. This batch of larvae was from a wild female William had caught. Their pupae were headed for the emergence cage so that he could build up the breeding stock to add this species to his export offerings. |
