Around Finca las Orquidias The rainforest surrounding the waterfall was very nice. Between the dense vegetation and cloud cover it was pretty dark except along watercourses. With my taking photos along the way, everyone got to the waterfall before me. I would have liked some shots without people but since it was raining when we left, the camera was under cover. Still, it was good to see and I have images to send down after I return to my printer. . . . We encountered quite a few creatures in our short excursions. Some were under rotting wood, while many were out and about doing their thing. Among my favorite finds were the freshwater crab (under a rotting log) and a handsome green lizard. I am also fond of the very cryptic katydids Carlos caught at night and currently have them in La Guacima seeing if I can get them to eat something in the yard so that they might be exhibited at The Butterfly Farm. . .... . . golden orb spider Nephila clavipes .... . . . .
