Disasters are a part of our lives whether it is natural or manmade. With the current global environment and events disasters are more lethal and dangerous than ever. Although it’s impossible to prevent them the best thing we can do is to prepare ourselves in facing the aftermath and ensure our survival for 2 days or a week until help arrives.
Ensuring our survival basically means prepping our basic needs to continue living and protect ourselves from any danger until rescue arrives or we get to a safe shelter. Here are some tips in basic survival:
- Don’t Panic
Panicking is a normal human reaction and is more dangerous than anything else because it could cloud your mind and judgment and ruin your chances of surviving. Before you do anything else stop, calm your mind, and focus on the things you need to do to survive.
- Preparedness
Be sure to have your basic survival supplies ready for either a quick evacuation or if you’ll be stuck in your home. Knowing the right stuff to store is the key to getting a better chance of survival.
- Knowing the Important Things to Survive
There are four important things that you need to survive and that is water, food, shelter and hygiene. Be sure to have all of the necessary things prepared so you can survive in a disaster for as long as you can.
